The Sacrament of Baptism is often called “the door of the Church,” because it is the first of the seven sacraments not only in time (since most Catholics receive it as infants) but in priority, since the reception of the other sacraments depends on it. Once baptized, a person becomes a member of the Church – and not just in this parish, but of the whole Catholic church worldwide.
Parents or guardians are asked to contact the parish office to schedule a meeting with the parish priest well in advance of the date they wish to have their child baptized . Please complete the Baptism Application Form and submit it to the parish office in advance of the meeting.
A Baptismal Preparation Course for parents and godparents is a prerequisite and is typically scheduled on a monthly basis – please contact the parish office at 780-422-8304 for more details.
Note: Baptisms are not celebrated during the season of Lent.
