Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is often called “the door of the Church,” because it is the first of the seven sacraments not only in time (since most Catholics receive it as infants) but in priority, since the reception of the other sacraments depends on it.

Once baptized, a person becomes a member of the Church – and not just in this parish, but of the whole Catholic church worldwide.

Parents or guardians should contact the parish office as soon as possible and schedule a meeting with the parish priest.  A Baptismal Preparation Course for parents and godparents is a prerequisite and is typically scheduled on a monthly basis – see the parish bulletin for scheduling information.

Please complete the Baptism Application Form to the parish office in advance of meeting with the parish priest.

Baptism Preparation Classes

We typically offer Baptism Preparation Classes on a monthly basis at the Church. For more information, please contact the Parish Office at 780-422-8304. (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 pm and 1:30 – 4 p.m.)

Baptism Celebrations

Baptisms are normally celebrated as part of regularly scheduled weekend masses. Details are shared within the Baptism preparation class. Note: Baptisms are not celebrated during Lent.
