First Holy Communion (Holy Eucharist)

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is when a person receives the body and blood of Christ (Holy Eucharist) into themselves via bread and wine.  “Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism, and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation, participate with the whole community in the Lord’s own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist..” — The Catechism of the Catholic Church

Santa Maria Goretti parish offers sacramental preparation for children preparing for First Holy Communion.

Courses will commence in January 2024 – registration material will be made available in advance.  In the meantime, refresher courses for those who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2023 are available by signing up here and sending the completed form to the Parish Office.
